Anahi – Brazil

Cane Sugar • Berry Compote • Bright

Grown on the Barbosa family's Cachoeira and Joia Rara farms in Brazil's Cerrado Mineiro, this natural Yellow Catuai is a coffee with a name to match its character: Anahi, from the Tupí-Guaraní language, means "she who has a sweet voice."

The long fermentation process gives Anahi a heavily jammy, almost boozy character, setting itself apart from more traditional, milder Brazilian naturals.

People & Place

Danilo Barbosa, Cachoeira + Joia Rara

The Barbosa family has grown coffee in Cerrado Mineiro since the 1900s. Today, Danilo Barbosa works alongside his wife Imaculada and sons Vitor and Sergio, four generations deep in the same soil. In 2021, the family became Brazil's Cup of Excellence champions — proof that patience, and a shared devotion to the land, produces something extraordinary.

The Land

Cerrado Mineiro, Minas Gerais

Located in the heart of Brazil, the Cerrado region is the newest of three major coffee-growing areas and has built an impressive reputation over the last few decades. It is characterized by its tropical savanna climate and well-defined dry and wet seasons, which contribute to the development of coffee beans with distinct and desirable flavour profiles.
